Our first Fall Festival of Horse Shows held September 29, 30 and October 1 turned out
-- in a word, GREAT!

Welcome to Crooked Creek Horse PArkFirst of all, Mother Nature co-operated wonderfully with a full weekend of the most gorgeous Fall weather one could imagine here in Western Pennsylvania... cool nights, and beautiful warm sunny days... Crooked Creek Horse Park was beautiful with just the perfect amount of golden and orange and red leaves to accent the golden Palominos shining in the sunlight!

The weekend consisted of FOUR shows... two Open "Rainbow" Fun Shows, and 2 PHBA Approved and Pointed Palomino shows. The Fun Shows were actually a bunch of fun with lots of new exhibitors and lots of people trying new events (like driving, eh Dana?) and even Saddlebreds in the speed classes! Our PHBA shows had ALL THREE Divisions of Palomino represented -- Stock Type, Pleasure Type (Morgan), and Golden Saddlebreds. We had enough entries to award several Halter Grand ChampionshipsParade Class and some of our classes were 3-pointers. (Open color was a 4-pointer!) Again, many people tried new events -- we even had a pointed ST Parade class! Our PHBA "stats" ended up with 20 horses each day, and over 100 class entries each day. Four new
Palomino registrations came in either at the show or were sent in especially
FOR the PPEA Show, as well as new several new PHBA memberships.

Our PHBA judges for the weekend were Sheri Hurley on September 30 and William Stevenson on October 1. Again, this was our first PHBA show -- and both of these good judges were extremely helpful to our PPEA staff and show committee. They are a credit to PHBA! Our Fun Show judges were Lisa Stanoszek Jones on the 29th and Anna Ressler Fowler on the 30th. Both of these young women were making their judging debut and did a fine job. Anna particularly had a long and varied evening, as the last classes weren't over until around 11 pm!

Thanks again to all of you who supported our show by advertising in our Showbook/Yearbook! You will be receiving a copy -- hopefully those of you who were at the show have yours already, if not, members please pick up at our next PPEA meeting, or otherwise yours will arrive by mail...
