PPEA 2003 Banquet Award

Bedford -- Members,
family, guests, and friends of the Pennsylvania Palomino Exhibitors
Association gathered at the Arena Restaurant for the 2003 PPEA
Awards Banquet and Season Kickoff on March 22.
The Year-End accomplishments
of PPEA Members in 2002 were recognized with awards at the banquet.
Top Youth Division winner was Youth All-Around Champion Skips
Spendthrift with Hannah Wagner. Leading the Adult Division were
All-Around Champion Sunny K Jazz with Mary Beth Kuznik, and Reserve
All-Around Champion Miss Golden Amber with Gloria Jean Price.
Circuit Awards and
class awards from the 2002 PPEA Firecracker Special Horse Show
Circuit were also presented.
PPEA President Vernon
E. Mast gave special recognition to Sue Graham and Marion Smeltzer
for their help with the Firecracker Shows; and to Jim and Gloria
Jean Price for their sponsorship of PPEA's Affiliate Banner with
the Palomino Horse Breeders of America, Inc.
PHBA National Director
Mary Beth Kuznik made a presentation to the group about her recent
trip to the PHBA National Convention in Albuquerque, NM where
she represented PPEA on several national committees and accepted
the 2003 PHBA Affiliate Palomino Association Service Award for
Class A Clubs on PPEA's behalf. Convention delegates also had
the opportunity to ride the Sandia Peak tramway (reaching over
10,000 ft above sea level), visited Albuquerque's historic Old
Town, and met one of the original performers who portrayed "Red
Ryder" in the 1950's-60's television series.

-- For the second straight year, the Pennsylvania Palomino Exhibitors
Association was selected to receive the national APA Service
Award (Class A, for small PHBA Affiliate club of under 100
members). The award was made at the 2003 PHBA National Convention
on March 15. The APA Service Award is based on club activities
including PHBA Horse Shows, non-show events, Palomino promotion,
club member recognition, community service, timely reporting
to PHBA, and youth/amateur member involvement. Other 2003 APA
Service Awards went to IPEA of Iowa in Class B (medium club)
and PEAO of Ohio in Class C (large club). |
